The first offshore wind farm project of VietNamPRP - Nexif Energy Ben Tre has signed A Power Purchase Agreement

On Nov 18, 2019, Electric Power Trading Company (EPTC) and Nexif Energy Ben Tre Co.Ltd, signed a Power Purchase Agreement for 30MW Nexif Energy Ben Tre offshore-Wind Farm Project.

EPTC held a signing ceremony on November 18 at Ha Noi for the Nexif Energy Ben Tre offshore-Wind Farm Project. The project has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and has a total capacity of 30 MW on a total area of 96 ha. The Commercial Operation Date (COD) is expected to be in early Jan 2021 and, once completed, the project targets generating 110 million kWh per year.

Electric Power Trading Company has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Nexif Energy Ben Tre Co.Ltd for 30MW Nexif Energy Ben Tre offshore-Wind Farm Project, approved feed-in-tariff (FiT) rate of 9.8 US cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

Nexif Energy Ben Tre offshore-Wind Farm Project located in East Sea, 1.0 km from mainland Thanh Hai commune, Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province, invested by Nexif Energy Ben Tre Co.Ltd, has expected capacity of 30MW in phase 1, including 7 wind turbines. The project is wholly owned by Nexif Energy Ben Tre, with a total investment of about 36 million$ (846 billion VND).

Aside from this project, Nexif is also launching other three projects in Viet Nam - the 30 MW Coc San Hydro Power Plant (COD in 2016) and the 50MW Hydro Power Plant Song Giang 1&2 (PPA signed) - with a total capacity of 130 MW. 

VietNam PRP has supported Nexif Energy Ben Tre offshore Wind Farm Owners to get Agreement on Technical Design of Grid Connection Points, Agreement on Tariff Metering System, Agreement on Relay Protection and Automation System, Agreement on SCADA and Telecommunication System, conditions for signing the PPA with EPTC.
