EPTC Signed A Power Purchase Agreement for 21MW Phuong Mai 3 Wind Farm project

On Jan 7, 2019, Electric Power Trading Company (EPTC) and HALCOM Viet Nam signed Power Purchase Agreement for 21MW Phuong Mai 3 Wind Farm Project.

Electric Power Trading Company and Halcom Viet Nam have signed a Power Purchase Agreement for 21 MW Phuong Mai 3 Wind Farm Project, approved feed-in-tariff (FiT) rate of 8.5 US cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

Phuong Mai 3 Wind Farm Project in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, Binh Dinh province, invested by HALCOM Viet Nam JSC, has expected capacity of 21 MW, including 06 turbines with a total investment of about $45 million, built on a total area of 122 hectares. The Plant will supply over 70 million kWh per year to the grid and reduce emissions by about 50,000 tons of CO2 per year. The expected project revenue is VND 200 billion per year.

With the successful operation of the project, the project will not only contribute to improvement of power supply for local demand, particularly tourism and business activities in ​​Nhon Hoi economic zone but also help to reduce emission thereby protecting the landscape environment, ensuring energy security and moving towards sustainable development of Binh Dinh Province in particular and Vietnam in general.

At the PPA signing ceremony, HALCOM's Chairman - Mr. Huan Nguyen Quang also shared information about wind power and solar power projects being researched and deployed by Halcom in the Viet Nam Central region.

Feasibility Study Report Preparation, Basic Design Preparation of Phuong Mai 3 is designed by VietNam PRP company. VietNam PRP has supported Owners to get Agreement on Technical Design of Grid Connection Points, Agreement on Tariff Metering System, Agreement on Relay Protection and Automation System, Agreement on SCADA and Telecommunication System, conditions for signing the PPA with EPTC.
